Summary:The purpose of this project was to create a prototype resource network for gathering, interpreting, and disseminating information regarding children's physical wellness. Physical wellness refers to the characteristics associated with physical fitness and long-term bodily health. Specifically, these physical attributes are typically referred to as components of physical fitness which include cardiorespiratory fitness, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and body composition. This project resulted in accomplishing the following: 1. Identified the primary children's physical wellness agencies and organizations at the national level. 2. Created a model clearinghouse by developing guidelines and procedures for classifying, cataloging, indexing, cross-indexing, and summarizing Information. 3. Created network model examples for information delivery from clearinghouse to local site, and 4. Created an example of a hypothetical Internet deliver system via the WWW.
