| Summary: | This thesis presents an efficient and accurate methodology for vertical pump static displacement analysis, natural frequency analysis (damped and undamped), and transient response analysis. Effects considered include stress stiffening, lump or consistent mass matrix, gyroscopic matrix, efficiency techniques such as Guyan reduction, modal analysis, and numerical integration algorithm, and three different types of bearing (linear bearing, hydrodynamic bearing and finite length bearing). The finite length bearing consists of I-D with quadratic approximation and 2-D finite element fluid film bearing. |
