| Summary: | attention has been given to image compression and audio based on subband coding and ADPCM. The performance of this by developing a speech codec using the Discrete Wavelet codec has also been compared to the one developed in [1], compression and have given very good results but a lot of compression but not to speech compression in particular. This work explores the use of wavelets in speech compression Transform. The performance of this codec for different wavelet functions has been analyzed.
