Description
Summary:2.64 dB/cm were achieved for TE and TM polarizations,
electrooptic effect has been demonstrated by polarization
geometry. Propagation losses in SBN as low as 1.43 dB/cm and
intensity modulation at 0.633 gm wavelength in both
LiNbo3 and SBN substrate material using a step strain
respectively. Electrooptic modulation via the linear
Strain induced optical waveguides have been produced in
substrates. LiNbo3 devices require a v,, of 10.75 V for a
Tc-radian phase shift. SBN devices require a voltage of 3.92
V and have a higher modulation depth than the LiNbo3devices.
