| Summary: | The purpose of the present study was to examine differences in the career beliefs and self-efficacy levels of older and younger women working in traditonal and nontraditional careers as measured by the Career Beliefs Inventory and the General Self-Efficacy Scale. Also, the relationship between career beliefs and self-efficacy level was examined. The sample of 96 women was taken from an organization of business women, all of whom were employed. Although few differences were found, the findings suggest that some differences may exist in the career beliefs of older women who are employed in nontraditional and traditional careers and that self- efficacy levels may be related to some career beliefs. Also, it appears that some demographic variables may account for some of the variance in career beliefs and self-efficacy levels of working women. |
