| Item Description: | Title from caption. During its five-and-a-half year existence, this 8-page weekly miscellany was edited successively by David Hogan, John W. Scott, and Thomas Irwin. Among its contents were original essays, serialized tales, extracts from both new and older publications, biographical sketches, and some material on the theater. Most issues contained pieces of music, and for the first four volumes the last page was devoted to poetry. Cf. American periodicals, 1741-1900. Microform. |
