| Item Description: | Imperfect: half-title, page 11/12, 77/78 in facsim. The long, rambling preface deals mainly with the Indians' right to the land. The principal poem (pages 19-78) is entitled: A brief account of the Agency of the Honourable John Winthrop, Esq; in the court of King Charles the Second, anno Dom. 1662. When he obtained for the Colony of Connecticut His Majesty's gracious charter. A page of errata at end is followed by an "Advertisement" (3 pages) signed by Joseph Dewey, who, "having been something at charge in promoting the publishing the fore-going meditations," takes the liberty to advertise his country-people of some rules to be observed in preparing and weaving wool.
