Description
Summary:Several configurations for dual Fiber-Optic Fabry-Perot (FFPI) sensors have been proposed and the measurement of optical path length change using these interferometer has been analyzed theoretically. The condition for best performance for each configuration has been determined. Several sensor multiplexing systems based on three models have been developed. The dependence of the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) on the number of sensors is analyzed. One of the models has been implemented experimentally, and results are in reasonable agreement with calculated values. Coherence multiplexing of two sensors has been demonstrated, and the results show almost no cross talk between two multiplexed channels. Future work and applications for dual FFPI sensor are discussed.
