Description
Summary:Bigger Thomas picked up a very drunk Mary Dalton from a night on the town. He had to quietly carry her up the stairs at the house, so as not to wake Mrs. Dalton. But Mrs. Dalton called out to Mary, and in order to keep from being discovered, he covered Mary's face with a pillow - silencing her forever. Terrified, Bigger hid the body, which led to a feverish manhunt, and a trial which shook not only the Dalton family but the whole city of Chicago as well, exposing the fears and prejudice of the 1940s.
