| Summary: | In this thesis, a universal controller is designed for our undergraduate teaching and graduate research laboratory. The universal controller has 8 A/D input channels and 4 D/A output channels with a resolution of 8-bit. It can handle up to 52K control program with its expansion memory. The microcontroller system uses real-time interrupt to fulfill the control task with a variable sampling rate of up to 15KHz. The universal controller can be used for different applications with different control programs which are developed using our hardware-in-the-loop personal computer CAD facility. The system also has a keyboard and an LCD display module for system operation monitoring. |
