Abstract:	This study describes an evaluation of School Within A School (SWAS) alternative programs for at-risk students on two high school campuses. The purpose of this evaluation study was to report the impact of a SWAS model alternative program on a selected group of "at-risk" students separately for two campuses, Campus A and Campus B, and separately for ethnic Majority and Minority student groups. Based on the data presented in this study it can be concluded that: 1) The SWAS students improved their performance over the course of the year for Grades, Credits, and Math Achievement. 2) Minority and Majority students ended the year in SWAS with similar performance gains over time. Ethnicity did not seem to contribute to differences in results. 3) Overall, similar performance gains occurred over time regardless of program site. SWAS program location or differences in structure did not contribute to differences in results.
