| Abstract: | Light scattering at and near 0° has been studied usin g photorefractive coupling in BaTiO3 to separate the scattered light from the unscattered incident beam. A detailed study of this technique has beam made. The angular distribution of the forward scattering function of a single quartz fiber was measured. Forward scattering data was obtained throughout a cone of 0.1° half angle centered at 0° with angular resolutions as high as 0.005°. The scattering phase shift at 0° was experimentally observed. The forward light scattering by a suspension of particles was measured and the effects of the coherent scattering at 0° was observed. |
