| Summary: | Abstract: "Image registration techniques match homologous features in pairs of images (respectively, atlas image and test image) and perform smooth deformations so that the size and shape of any object in one image closely approximates the size and shape of that object in the other image. Once the atlas and the test image have been registered, atlas information can then be used to interpret the test image. A preliminary mapping is first done in 3D and then refined in 2D. A prototype brain image mapping system has been implemented for this purpose [35]." |
