Description
Abstract:This investigation is a study of the implementation process of a model intervention program as described by individuals involved in the process of implementation. In the study is identified the various levels of involvement of program implementors and their perceived roles and responsibilities. In addition, the researcher sought to identify elements of the innovation components that affected program outcomes. The model intervention program is described, and incorporates the identification process of at-risk students as well as major components of the innovative program. Personnel involved in the planning, designing, and implementation of the innovative program were interviewed regarding their level of intensity of involvement in the implementation process. A questionnaire/interview instrument guided the interview process. Information from respondents focused on identification of the goals and objectives; identification, description and evaluation of the major components of the innovation; identification and description of the implementation process; and information regarding effectiveness of program components. A descriptive analysis of collected data indicate that designers' and implementators' perceptions of the implementation process differed significantly.
