Description
Abstract:An orderly generation of two integrator loop filter structures using Operational Transconductance Amplifiers (OTA's) and Capacitors (OTA-C) is introduced. A systematic determination of frequency response limitations on these biquadratic OTA-C filters structures taking into consideration non-ideal components is presented. The frequency limitations are described using a set of contours on the (f[o],Q[o]) plane, which provided the practical tuning range of the different filter structures. It is shown that few of the available transfer functions from these filter architectures present minimum parasitic effects. A sound design for biquadratic OTA-C filters with minimum parasitic effects, and optimal dynamic range is proposed. Theoretical, simulated and CMOS test chips experimental results are in agreement.
