| Abstract: | This research concerns the development and validation of a questionnaire to assess the adequacy of indicators of productivity. For each indicator of productivity assessed, job incumbents rated several dimensions which impacted the adequacy of the indicator. The questionnaire was administered to employees in two organizations. Internal consistency was found to be adequate, and discriminant validity was observed across indicators and between organizations. The questionnaire was positively related to measures of feedback and satisfaction with supervision, and negatively related to perceived role ambiguity. Retest and inter - rater reliabilities were low. Theoretical implications for the link between individual performance and group producitivity are discussed. |
