This work, which Southey was inclined to consider an authentic history of the Arabic conquest of Spain, to A.D. 761, and as written in Arabic but two years later, is now shown by Conde, Gayangos and others to be a bold literary forgery of little value, originally composed by Miguel de Luna. cf. Ticknor, Hist. Span. lit., London, 1849, volume 1, pages 195-196, note.
