England and Wales. An ordinance or declaration of the Lords and Commons assembled in Parliament: Concerning a commission with instructions thereunto annexed, directed to the right honourable the Lords Lieutenants, Deputy Lieutenants, and some other gentlemen of the counties of Essex, Hertford, and Bedford, from his Excellency the Earle of Essex, Lord Generall, for the disarming of the popish and ill affected parties in the said severall counties, as also for the raising and taking of horse, money, and plate, of all such as have not contributed, or not proportionably to their estates, to the propositions of Parliament : and that Colonell Walter Long shall take and receive such moneyes as are behind, unpaid in such hundreds where the said commission hath bin put to execution, that so he may give an exact accompt for the whole, and likewise manifest his just and faire proceedings with the Parliament.
