| Abstract: | The existing tables for the evaluation of characteristics of gravity waves of permanent form are not adequate for waves of large steepness and intermediate values of relative depth. An attempt is made here to develop a numerical system for calculating the properties of such waves. The details of this method are presented here along with a number of calculations to illustrate the method. Comparison of the results of the present method with those based on existing tables is made for those cases where existing tables are adequate. |
