| Abstract: | Movement and distribution of ⁴²K and ¹³⁴Cs were investigated within individual Schizachyrium scoparium (Michx.) nash (little bluestem) tillers grown in a greenhouse and under natural conditions. The field studies were conducted on two contrasting soil types. Similar movement and distribution of ⁴²K and ¹³⁴Cs occurred when tillers were double-tagged. Such data are presumptive evidence that the biochemical cycling of ¹³⁴CS and ⁴²K within a grassland system would be similar. ... |
