| Abstract: | Photographic absorption spectrograms of SO₂¹⁶ and SO₂¹⁸ have been obtained in the spectral range between 1080 Å and 1350 Å with a reciprocal dispersion of 4.23 Å/mm. Spectra of SO₂¹⁶ were also recorded photoelectrically providing absorption intensity data. Isotope shift data indicate that there are six or more electronic absorption systems in the region investigated. A vibrational analysis has been accomplished for the two systems referred to in this report as the X and Y systems. Each of these two systems consist of a simple bending progression with associated "hot" bands. ... |
