No memiors in quarto were published 1874-1881. Volume10, number3 (Embryology of the ctenophorae by Alexander Agassiz) was printed in August 1874, but was not distributed by the academy, though some copies were distributed by the author. When publication was resumed in 1881, the paper of Mr. Agassiz was overlooked, its paging being duplicated and the volume completed and distributed without it. In 1885 it was distributed as a supplement to volume 10, pt.2, together with a new table of contents. cf. "note" following table of contents of volume 10, pt.2.
