Description
| Abstract: | A comprehensive theoretical study of the scattering of electromagnetic radiation by arbitrarily configured clusters of interacting spheres is presented. The salient accomplishment of this research is the articulation, for the first time, of a model of cooperative scattering by spheres that is based on order-of-scattering (OS) processes. The OS technique proves itself to be generally superior to all other methods both in its numerical efficiency and in its conceptual appeal. This latter advantage leads to insights relevant to phenomena of current interest that could not otherwise be explicated. |
