Description
Summary:The Prioress's Tale begins with an invocation and description of the Virgin, and tells the story of a Christian child murdered by Jews. The Virgin gives this child the power to sing and thus reveal his whereabouts and death. In the Tale of Sir Thopas, the hero rides in search of an elf-queen and is challenged by a giant. He retreats, promising to return. After a conventional arming scene he leaves court again, but the tale is interrupted before anything happens.
