Description
Item Description:The Cushing Library/Celtic Literature Collection copy is housed with Our Irish theatre / Lady Gregory. New York and London : G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1913 in a slipcase at the call number of Irish folk-history plays. The three volumes were originally the property of John Quinn, who inscribed them to Joseph Conrad, who in turn gave them to Irish portraitist Alice Sarah Kinkead. The second volume of the set is inscribed by John Quinn to Joseph Conrad, "'The Deliverer' is of course a satire or irony on the way the Irish 'patriots' (!) treated Parnell. J.Q." Both volumes bear the signature of Irish portrait painter Alice Sarah Kinkead, who painted the last likeness of Joseph Conrad. Contains a bookseller's description.
