Description
Abstract:The presented language is used for design and prototype implementation of application graphics systems. By usual methods it is not feasible to test a system in the user environment until near completion. Incorporation of new and modified requirements into a system design at this point is difficult. The proposed language supports high level operations for the description of an application language and its graphic environment for direct interpretation. Thus, it allows development of prototype systems early in the design phase of a proposed system for comparative testing in the application environment and feedback into the design process. The language has extensive syntax recognition facilities similar to compiIer-compiIer systems. It has extensible data types and operations useful in handling application specific data. The graphics facilities incorporate the aims of current standards activities and present a variety of input and output devices, both real and simulated.
