Item Description:Attributed by Evans (Amer. bibl., volume 5, number 14791) to Jacob Green. Sabin gives it as anonymous, but adds, in a note, "Perhaps by Rev. Jacob Green of New Jersey. See 'Life of Ashbel Green', page 46". The latter says, "My own father [Jacob Green] wrote a pamphlet, entitled, as well as I can remember, 'Observations on the present controversy between Great Britain and her American colonies'."

Another issue, bearing the same imprint, has slightly different punctuation on the title page, and "The plan of an American compact ... ."
