Two copies were purchased for the Cushing Library/Lit./Mitchell Collection by The Cushing Library.
One of the Cushing Library/Lit./Mitchell copies contains a photocopy of "Acquisitions of modern art by museums" from the Burlington Magazine. The article mentions Jacob Kramer's "Portrait of Harold Monro," a portrait within the book.
One of the Cushing Library/Lit./Mitchell copies contains: [1] an autograph note signed "H. Monro"; one leaf, Eastgate Hotel, Oxford, 30 July 1925, to Miss Harris explaining: "There were one or two things I forgot before going away, & had meant to write to you about on arrival here, but there has not been a minute to spare for letters, so this is just to let you know that I shall be going up to London by the first train in the morning (Friday) & staying until midday Saturday."; [2] original black-and-white photoprint of Monro, seated at work in the Poetry Bookshop (14 x 19 cm); [3] carbon copy of a typed letter (unsigned, one leaf, return address crossed through with heavy blue pencil, 7 March 1925) written by Monro to an unidentified man, responding to a request for an "elucidation of my poem CHILDREN OF LOVE," reading in part, "I think it is quite straightforward but possibly people sometimes try to find more in it than there really is. It cannot be said that Jesus comes out triumphant over Cupid or indeed that either triumphs over the other. The boy Jesus represents in their most simple form the ideals of Christian Love and Cupid is the impersonation of Pagan Love. The Christian Figure is sad; the Pagan Figure joyful."
