| Item Description: | It was originally released as 1975 issue of the magazine Imágenes de la chicana. 2 issues were printed: [1974] printed by Nowels Publications, Menlo Park, California; [1975] by FITS Printing, San Francisco. "Imágenes de la Chicana was born last year out of the need for Chicanas to share our needs, concerns, struggles, pains and joys with a broader community. In a class taught by Rita Sánchez a year ago, a group of Chicanas had the opportunity to get together and communicate with one another about what being a Chicana was all about. In our second issue, cuentos, poesia, y arte from many different sources are included. We are by no means claiming to understand every aspect of being Chicana. Through this magazine we are sharing Imágenes de la Chicana."--Page 3, Preface. "I edited student writings for a Chicana journal, Imagenes de La Chicana."--Rita Sanchez: Oral interview. Conducted by Rudy P. Guevarra, Jr. |
