| Abstract: | A class of optimization models of processor scheduling for a representative time-sharing computer system is specified. Each ad hoc model in this class is concerned with performance optimization, i.e. optimization with respect to variable in the software and management control in a hardware-fixed environment. The class of models has the property that a common approach can be used to obtain a single form of the objective function. This objective function is based on the use of cost of delay functions introduced by Greenberger. ... |
