| Abstract: | Life cycles and selected aspects of the ecology of Procambarus acutus (Girad) and P. hinei (Ortmann) were studied in southeastern Texas, principally in Brazoria County, from July 1970 through September 1972. Methods included observations on captive specimens, periodic sampling of natural populations, and examination of gonads. Studies in additional areas farther inland, mainly in Brazos Country, revealed P. acutus of larger sizes than were attained at similar ages in the principal study area, near the coast. ... |
