| Abstract: | A comprehensive and adaptable classroom observation system was developed for use by practicing public school teachers in Grades K-12 without much special training. A feature of the system which distinguishes it from existing systems is that the teacher to be observed will himself select the classroom behaviors about which he wants information. Ninety-four classroom behaviors comprise the system, and their reliabilities have been measured and ranked. A master list of 199 classroom behaviors was first compiled, including cognitive, routine, affective, and psychomotor behaviors of teachers and students. By the selection of each teacher's preferred 10 behaviors, two groups of teachers reduced the list to 95. ... |
