Abstract:Purpose: The major purpose of this study was to identify and analyze change orientation and perceptions of emerging professional roles held by teachers of home economics in Virginia. The specific objectives of this study were to: 1. Establish the status of change orientation exhibited by teachers of home economics in Virginia. 2. Ascertain perceptions of emerging professional roles held by teachers of home economics in Virginia. 3. Determine whether or not level of institutional program is a factor in change orientation and perceptions of emerging professional roles exhibited by teachers of home economics in Virginia. 4. Determine whether or not size of institutional program is a factor in change orientation and perceptions of emerging professional roles. 5. Determine whether or not a relationship existed between their change orientation and perceptions of emerging professional roles.
