Description
Abstract:This dissertation deals with the blade loading analysis of a centrifugal impeller using viscous effects. The goal was to study theoretically the flow in such an impeller retaining as many terms as possible. The only major assumption is that the flow is steady. A quasi-three dimensional solution is used to solve the momentum and energy equations in the hub-to-shroud and blade-to blade planes to obtain the blade loading in a centrifugal impeller. This approach has been traditional and gives analytically a quasi-three-dimensional picture of the flow in a centrifugal impeller. A detailed numerical procedure and a flow chart are given for use on a computer.
