Description
Abstract:The reaction ¹H(d,p)n has been studied in a kinematically complete experiment at a deuteron bombarding energy of 57.96 MeV. A system of 59 plastic scintillator detectors was used to take proton-proton coincidence data simultaneously at 208 pairs of angles in the laboratory coordinate system. An IBM 7094 digital computer was used on-line for simultaneous data acquisition and live-time diagnostic checking of the operation of the experimental apparatus. The data were transformed to the center- of-momentum coordinate system and are displayed as a function of the energies of the product nucleons by means of a Dalitz plot. A tabulation of the differential cross section as a function of the energies of the two protons is also included.
