Abstract:Five nonlinear regression models were compared on their respective fitting qualities and appropriateness for biological studies of the weight-age curves in cattle of beef and Jersey breeding. Model V, y[subscript t] = A(1 - Be[superscript -Kt)[superscript M), was selected as the most appropriate model for biological studies. The model is the most flexible in fitting the variation common to realized data and some biological differences can be measured by the parameters in some combination of the parameters. ...
