| Item Description: | These letters, written during the years 1767-1769 by Hutchinson, Lieutenant-Governor Oliver, and others, came into the possession of Benjamin Franklin, who transmitted them to Massachusetts. Their consideration by the House of Representatives and Council of the Province led to the adoption by both bodies of petitions for the removal of Hutchinson and Oliver.
