Description
Summary:This volume presents the results of a symposium which brought together both Latin Americans and Chinanons directly involved in regional and community projects. The papers presented to the symposium were divided into five categories: bilingual-bicultural education; communication in bilingual contexts; operational studies; rural-urban relations; and new approaches to bilingualism and biculturalism in the Chicano neighborhoods in Chicago. The heterogeneity expressed in the articles provides evidence that no model which regards ethnic minorities as isolated, dualistic, or simple societies can withstand analysis in our modern world.
