A secondary purpose was to determine if "hands-on" work experience affected students' work values. The investigation was conducted by the pretest-posttest control group design. A student sample was selected from high schools in the Texas cities of Cypress-Fairbanks, Brazosport, and North Mesquite. The pretest and posttest were administered at the beginning and end of one public school semester by project staff members. Arrangements for testing students were made with school district administrators with the assistance of industrial arts teachers and vocational counselors. Super's Work Value Inventory was utilized as the pretest-posttest instrument. Data concerning the fifteen work values measured by the instrument were analyzed by the analysis of covariance statistical procedure.
