Item Description:	Gibbon commanded the Seventh Infantry at Fort Shaw, Montana and led the army at the Battle of the Big Hole. Painting entitled, "Surrender of Chief Joseph," by Frederic Remington included. The Cushing Library/Kelsey Americana copy contains a letter of transmittal from Charlene Clark and the Friends and a summary of this title.
